Este foi o segundo ano que o grupo ‘Cultura Cabo Verde/UK’ organizou a festa da independência de Cabo Verde.
O evento se passou no Centro e parque do ‘Girdlestone Community Centre’ em Archway
(a Norte de Londres).
Os convidados tiveram a oportunidade de participar em varias actividades dos quais; jogos tradicionais, pintura, decoracao de bolos, e muito mais. O publico tambem teve a oportunidade de apreciar varios pratos e bebidas tradicionais de Cabo Verde.
O evento teve como convidados especiais, Neuza Semedo, a grande vencedora do festival ‘Vozes da diaspora/UK/2014 e tambem a participacao de Eve Ramos uma talentosa menina que encantou o publico com a sua coreografia de danca tradicional de Cabo Verde.
Como convidado especial o grupo ainda ofereceu uma banda do Trinidade e Tabago( steel pan band) que tambem agradou bastante o publico. O grupo acredita que para alem de promover a sua cultura tambem é importante conhecer outras culturas e mesmo abraça-las.
O publico tambem se deliciou com a actuação do ja conhecido ‘Tradison Cabo Verde’.
O grupo ‘Cultura Cabo Verde/UK’ ofereceu uma dramatização sobre o percurso de Cabo Verde desde a colonização a sua independência, a iniciativa foi bastante elogiada pelo publico.
Para finalizar houve um desfile sobre as origens de Cabo Verde, e a festa final, com muita musica e alegria….
O feedback do publico sobre o evento no geral foi excelente.

Cape Verde Independence day celebration (07/05/14).
This was the second year that the group ‘Cultura Cabo Verde / UK’ have organized this event to celebrate Cape Verde independence day.
The event was held at ‘Girdlestone Community Centre’ and the park in Archway/ North London.
All guests had the opportunity to participate in various activities including; traditional games, painting, cake decoration, and much more. The public also had the opportunity to enjoy various traditional dishes and drinks from Cape Verde.
Neuza Semedo, the big winner of the festival ‘Voices of Diaspora / UK / 2014 was one of the special guests. We also had Eve Ramos a talented girl who charmed the audience with her choreography of traditional dance of Cape Verde. The 3rd special guests were a ‘steel pan’ band from Trinidad which allowed us to embrace other cultures whilst embracing our own.
They were also delighted with the performance of the already well known ‘Tradison Cape Verde’.
The ‘Culture Cape Verde / UK’ group offered a dramatization about Cape Verde’s route since colonization until its independence. The group was widely praised for the initiative.
The last part of the event was a fashion parade about Cape Verde roots and influences. Everyone was invited to participate; it was an authentic celebration…
The feedback from the public about the event in general was excellent…
